Reported from Mirs Bay, Tolo Channel, and Tolo Harbour (Ref. 126271). Also reported from Sharp Island (Ref. 94637); along the northern coast of Lantau Island (Ref. 126090); Hoi Ha Wan, and Tung Ping Chau (Ref. 129329). Juveniles were recorded from Starfish Bay and Lai Chi Chong (Ref. 125536). The species was observed on 101 to 200 occasions during 400 dive surveys on artificial reefs (Ref. 119494). Sometimes enter estuaries, eventually rivers and streams. Reported from the Tai Ho stream in Lantau Island (Ref. 129476). Sold in live fish markets. Caught via trawling (Ref. 125552). Accounted for most cases of venomous fish sting injuries to recreational fishers (Ref. 128523). Also Ref. 12087, 125407.
